§ Lord Lester of HerneHill asked Her Majesty's Government:
Whether they will inform Parliament of formal advice given to departments by the Council on Tribunals, under Section 8 of the Tribunals and Inquiries Act 1992, in relation to proposed tribunal rules, and of the reasons for any significant departure from such advice; and if not, why not.
§ The Lord ChancellorThe Government have no plans to inform Parliament of formal advice given during the course of consultation. However, it is open to Parliament to enquire as to whether there has been any significant departure from that advice and, moreover, the Council on Tribunals may itself raise such matters in its annual report.
