§ Mr. StrawTo ask the Parliamentary Secretary, Lord Chancellor's Department what was the number and percentage of defendants remanded in custody for either way offences who were dealt with within the 70-day limit laid down by the Prosecution of Offences (Custody Time Limit) Regulations 1987; and what was the number and percentage of defendants remanded in custody for indictable offences who were dealt with within the 70-day limit between first appearance and committal laid down by the regulations for each year since the regulations came into force.
