§ Mr. Charles WardleMy right hon. Friend the President of the Board of Trade has designated me as the Green Minister for the Department. I take decisions on oil and gas exploration and extraction on the basis of a number of criteria, including the possible effect such activities may have on the environment. In reaching these decisions, I take account of advice from a wide range of environmental organisations, including the Joint Nature Conservation Committee.
