§ Sir Hector Monro[holding answer 20 January 1995]: The following landfill sites in Scotland are approved by Her Majesty's industrial pollution inspectorate for the controlled burial of low level radioactive wastes from hospitals, universities and other small users and are still receiving these wastes:

Before disposal, detailed monitoring of waste takes place to ensure that only low level waste is disposed of by this route.
80WAll wastes disposed of by these users are classified as low-level waste and the disposals take place in accordance with authorisations issued by Her Majesty's industrial pollution inspectorate.
