HC Deb 20 January 1995 vol 252 c698W
Mrs. Golding

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what progress is being made on a national register of missing children.

Mr. Maclean

The national missing persons bureau was opened at New Scotland Yard in March 1994 and acts as a clearing house for information on vulnerable missing persons reported to the police, including children. It is intended that this function will in due course be undertaken by the police national computer.
