§ Mr. NorrisThe Marine Safety Agency is responsible for the oversight of safety of navigation on inland waters for recreational purposes, through the district marine safety committee. British Waterways, which continues to promote both commercial and recreational use of the canal network, works closely with the district marine safety committees to ensure that safety is given the highest priority.
