To ask the Secretary of State for Transport when the revised International Atomic Energy Agency guidelines on air transportation of radioactive material over the United Kingdom will be issued; and if he will prohibit such activity until the guidelines are in place.

The next edition of the IAEA regulations for the safe transport of radioactive material is due for publication in 1996. Meanwhile, there is no reasons for prohibiting the air transport of radioactive material on safety grounds.
