Friend the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs had very useful discussions covering a wide range of issues including the future of Europe and the 1996 EU inter-governmental conference, future enlargement of the EU, relations between the EU and the Mediterranean, and future European security arrangements.
