To ask the Attorney-General in how many cases where he has referred a sentence to the Court of Appeal as being unduly lenient, the sentence has been increased.

The Attorney-General

Since 1989, 189 offenders have had their sentences referred to the Court of Appeal as unduly lenient. Some 19 cases were subsequently withdrawn. Of the 161 cases that have been heard, 132, or 82 per cent. resulted in an increased sentence.
