To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what is the most recent percentage figures of unemployment in Newport, Gwent and Wales.

Mr. Redwood

In November 1994, the adjusted, workforce-based unemployment rates were 9 per cent. in both the Newport travel-to-work area and Gwent; and 8.7 per cent. in Wales.
