To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what preparation he is making to implement the recommendation of the Toyne report on the commissioning of a national appraisal of the progress made in the further and higher education sector in the development of environmental education.

Mr. Richards

The Toyne report recommended that the Welsh Office and the Department for Education commission a national appraisal not later than the 1995–96 academic year. It is intended that the appraisal will take place in the 1995–96 academic year.
