To aks the President of the Board of Trade what steps he is taking to further encourage inward investment in the north-west; and if he will make a statement.

The Government are fully aware of the benefits to the United Kingdom of inward investment and takes great pains to promote this country overseas. However, the choice of the precise location within the UK is entirely a matter for the commercial judgment of the investor.
