HC Deb 10 January 1995 vol 252 c52W
Mr. Win Griffiths

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales if he will make it his policy to ensure that when children are given statements of special educational needs that their parents or guardians are advised to investigate whether their children may be eligible for benefits such as disability allowance.

Mr. Richards

[holding answer 19 December 1994]: I would expect that all those who are professionally involved with children in need, whether or not they have statements of special educational need, to seek to identify ways in which the child and his or her parents or guardians may be helped.
