§ Mr. Matthew Banks
To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer when he expects to receive a report from the retail prices index advisory committee.

§ Mr. Kenneth Clarke
[pursuant to his reply, 15 December 1994, c.788]: I have decided to accept all the recommendations made by the committee in its report, Cm 2717 and Cm 2716, on the treatment in the RPI of owner-occupiers' housing costs and cars respectively. The reports were presented to the House and published on 15 December 1994. The Central Statistical Office will implement the changes in the RPI for February 1995.
