To ask the Secretary of State for Employment how much his Department is planning to spend on education and training per unemployed person in 1995–96; and what was the level in 1989–90 at 1995–96 prices.

As the programmes covered by this expenditure are by no means confined to the unemployed, it would not be appropriate to express expenditure per unemployed person.
