§ Baroness BlatchA total of 184 responses were received before the consultation period ended on 31 May 1993. These produced much useful information but no consensus on how best to deal with the excesses associated with the activities of irresponsible clampers. In considering what, if any, action to take our aim is to ensure that any measure introduced to prevent or deter irresponsible or heavy-handed wheel clamping on private land does not prevent sensible measures being taken to control genuine parking problems. We will make an announcement as soon as possible.
