Mr. DavisTo ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make representations to the Government of Surinam concerning the rights of indigenous and Maroon peoples to be consulted over land use divisions covering the areas in which they live.
§ Mr. BaldryI am not aware of any recent problem concerning the Maroon people in Surinam and we have received no other request to make representations on their behalf. However, if the hon. Member would care to write about his concerns, I would be happy to look into the matter.
