Training Budget

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment what proposals he has for increasing the training budget for young people.

Mr. Paice

In 1997–98, planned expenditure by the Department on training for young people, through youth training, modern apprenticeships and accelerated modern apprenticeships will be £174 million more than forecast expenditure in the current year.
