Mr. Morgan

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales if he will make arrangements for independent public inquiries to be established in relation to(a) the Glan Clwyd baby theft and (b) issues arising from the internal inquiry into the transportation of a stillborn baby for pathological examination from Wrexham Maelor hospital to the University hospital of Wales on 15 November 1994.

Glan Clwyd Hospital NHS trust is holding an internal inquiry and I shall consider whether any further action is required in the light of its findings, which will be available in March.

The report of the internal inquiry is under consideration in my Department and I shall decide whether any further action is required in due course.
