§ Mr. AtkinsLocal authorities do not have the power to supply information to anyone, other than for council tax purposes. Furthermore, access to the contents of valuation lists may be given only within the terms of section 28 of the Local Government Finance Act 1992, that is, to enable a person to establish what is, or has been, the state of a list. Release of such information for any other purpose may be construed as unlawful.
