§ Mr. Chris SmithTo ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer pursuant to the answer of the Secretary of State for National Heritage of 7 February 1995,Official Report, column 160, what will be the income to the Exchequer, during the course of a full year, from (a) the investment of £65 million of lottery proceeds in Treasury bills and (b) of £22 million in gilts.
§ Sir George YoungNone. Income from Treasury bills and gilts goes to the beneficial owner, which is in this case would be the national lottery distribution fund, and not to the Exchequer.
