Mr. Barry Jones

To ask the Secretary of State for National Heritage what measures he will take to enable television viewers in Clwyd to receive the Welsh television channels; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Dorrell

It is for the BBC, the Independent Television Commission and the Welsh Fourth Channel Authority to determine their own engineering priorities for the coverage of their television services in Wales within the resources they have available.

To ask the Secretary of State for National Heritage what percentage of television viewers in(a) Alyn and Deeside and (b) Clwyd can receive (i) BBC Wales, (ii) Harlech TV and (iii) Granada TV; and if he will make a statement.

This information is not available in the form requested. The BBC, the Independent Television Commission and the Welsh Fourth Channel Authority respectively have responsibility for coverage of their television services in Wales. The Government have no independent figures.
