§ Mr. SoamesThe mock-up of the Vauxhall Astra was put up in the cookhouse shortly before the battalion's Christmas lunch. It was noticed by officers in the battalion during the lunch and it was immediately ordered to be removed. No disciplinary action was taken against the soldiers involved in making it, but the officer who should have taken steps to prevent the mock-up from being displayed was not permitted to convert his short service commission to become a regular officer.
