HC Deb 16 February 1995 vol 254 cc745-6W
Mr. Cousins

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what lists Customs and Excise prepared of countries or destinations which were possible diversionary routes for the evasion of sanctions at the time of, or after, the passing of the Iraq sanctions orders in 1990.

Mr. Heathcoat-Amory

Customs and Excise has prepared a number of lists at different times, based on intelligence currently available, to assist its officers to prevent breaches of the Iraq sanctions orders. It is not Customs' policy to make public such information provided in confidence to support operational effectiveness.
