§ Mr. NorrisWe announced on 15 December the allocation of £79 million in 1995–96 for 37 local authority transport packages covering bus priority measures and park and ride schemes. In 1995–96 the package approach to local transport investment becomes the norm, particularly in urban areas. In addition, I have reconstituted the bus working group with representatives from the Confederation of Passenger Transport, local authority associations and the National Federation of Bus Users, to see what further measures can be taken to improve bus services within the deregulated framework.
