§ Mr. Douglas HoggThe Sudanese Government have refused to agree to a visit by Amnesty International. This disappointing decision follows the recent publication of a report by Amnesty International detailing human rights abuses in Sudan. We regularly raise our concerns about human rights abuses with the Sudanese authorities bilaterally as well as through the EU and UN. We shall continue to urge them to accept visits by international humanitarian organisations such as Amnesty.
