To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what is(a) the number and (b) the percentage of employees conducting tests to award driving licences in the Greater London area who are from an ethnic minority background.

This is an operational matter for the Driving Standards Agency. I have asked the chief executive to write to the hon. Member.

The Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Transport has asked me to reply to your question about the number of Driving Examiners conducting driving tests in the Greater London area who are from an ethnic minority background.There are 219 Driving Examiners conducting driving tests in the Greater London Area. Six (2.7℅) of these Examiners are from an ethnic minority background.
