To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland how much expenditure was incurred by each local education authority in Scotland on the provision of nursery education in(a) 1991–92, (b) 1992–93 and ( c) 1993–94.

Mr. Lang

Net current expenditure by education authorities on nursery education in 1991–92 and 1992–93 is given in the table. These figures exclude the costs of school meals, home-to-school transport and central administration. Comparable figures for expenditure in 1993–94 are not yet available.
