Mr. Pinheiro will be responsible for DG VIII—African, Caribbean and Pacific countries; Mr. Mann will be responsible for DG I North/South—the Mediterranean, Asia and Latin America; Mr. van den Broek will be responsible for DG I—the PHARE and TACIS programmes for eastern and central Europe and the former Soviet Union; Ms Bonino will be responsible for emergency aid—the European Community Humanitarian Office; Mme Cresson will be responsible for research and development including that for developing countries—DG XII.
