HC Deb 06 February 1995 vol 254 cc30-1W
Mr. David Porter

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what savings she expects to result from the abolition of the Anglia and Oxford regional health authority; and how many of those savings will be put into health care in East Anglia.

Mr. Malone

By 1997–98, total annual savings from the abolition of regional health authorities are expected to be around £100 million. These substantial savings will be retained by the national health service and thus will be available to be reinvested in patient care.
