To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what proposals he has to ensure that in the periods of the three final months of the financial year, the patients of non-fundholders are not disadvantaged in respect of patients of fundholders in waiting periods for operations.

Hospital treatment for patients of non-fundholding GPs is purchased by district health authorities. The additional waiting times initiative funding of £4 million which my right hon. Friend announced last November should ensure that both the district health authorities and GP fundholders in Wales are able to meet the waiting times targets which they identified in their health plans for 1994–95.
