To ask the Secretary of State for Health what qualifications are required for staff dispensing drugs in a general practitioner's dispensing practice.

Mr. Malone

The responsibility for ensuring the competence of staff dispensing drugs in general practitioners' practices lies with the doctor who is subject to the enforcement provisions of the Medicines Act 1968.
