§ The Minister of State, Department of the Environment (Viscount Ullswater)The outstanding arrears of community charge in England as at 31 March 1994 (the latest date for which comprehensive information is available) are estimated to have been £1.7 billion. Of this sum £155 million had been collected by September 1994, but no data are yet available centrally on further sums written off in this period.
