§ Mrs. GoldingTo ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department when he expects to publish the research findings from the project currently being conducted at the university of Leicester: "Evaluation of New Provision for Child Witnesses 1991".
§ Mr. MacleanWe expect to publish the report in the spring.
§ Mrs. GoldingTo ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will outline the remit of the steering group chaired by his Department on children's evidence; and if he will list the membership of the group.
§ Mr. MacleanThe remit of the steering group on child evidence is as follows:
- (a) to monitor the implementation of relevant legislation and Government initiatives;
- (b) to provide a national forum for the resolution of problems relating to child evidence;
- (c) to assess what further reforms might be necessary and to assess their viability; and
- (d) to keep informed of new developments in the field.
