To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will list the number and types of instances where the required level of service has not been provided or specific contract terms have not been met by Group 4 since the start of the contract to run The Wolds prison.

Responsibility for this matter has been delegated to the Director General of the Prison Service, who has been asked to arrange for a reply to be given.

Letter from Derek Lewis to Mr. Mike Hall, dated 2 February 1995: The Home Secretary has asked me to reply to your recent Question about Group 4 and the Wolds prison. There has been one default notice. This was issued as a result of the escape of a prisoner from hospital, early in 1994.
