§ Mr. Sackville[holding answer 30 January 1995J: Information on the number of intensive care units is not available centrally. Information is provided in the table on the average daily number of available designated intenslive therapy beds in London.
In addition to these services provided in units designated as intensive therapy units, intensive therapy can also be delivered in a variety of hospital departments, such as neonatal intensive care, coronary care units, accident and emergency departments, renal units and high dependency units.

From 1993–94 Ashford hospital intensive care beds—two have been included in North West Surrey returns and are therefore no longer included in the London figure.
