To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs when he next expects to meet the President of the European Commission to discuss the future of the European Union.

My right hon. Friend the Foreign Secretary meets Mr. Santer as a matter of course at Foreign Affairs Councils. The next Foreign Affairs Council is on 6 and 7 February.
