Letter from Richard Tilt to Mr. Tom Cox, dated 20 December 1995:

The Home Secretary has asked me to reply to your recent Question about shopping trips by prison officers for prison inmates. No shopping trips by prison officers were made during the week of 5 December. This is in line with the Home Secretary's announcement in December 1994 that the practice of prison officers going shopping at the behest of prisoners had stopped.
