To ask the Secretary of State for Transport (i) what progress has been made with the Greater Manchester transport authority's application for European regional development fund funding for the Metrolink extension to Eccles via Stratford quays; [7162]

(2) what plans he has to ensure that ERDF funding is available to the Salford quays and Eccles Metrolink. [7163]
