Mr. Gale

To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment when the Student Loans Company appointed a new chief executive. [7665]

Mr. Colin Ward, currently assistant managing director of the Student Loans Company, has accepted the post of chief executive with effect from 1 January 1996.

Mr. Gale

To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment when the Student Loans Company appointed a new assessor; and if she will publish his terms of reference. [7667]

Mr. Forth

Mr. Graham Chandler, retired registrar of the university of Nottingham, has agreed to become the independent assessor for the Student Loans Company from 1 January 1996. I am placing details of his terms of reference in the Library.
