HC Deb 19 December 1995 vol 268 cc1107-8W
Dr. David Clark

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence how many Army service men have been given an honourable discharge in each of the last 36 months; and if he will indicate their units. [6887]

Mr. Soames

Honourable discharge is not an officially recognised term. However, excluding those who have been discharged as a result of sentencing by court martial or for misconduct, 48,377 soldiers have left the Army "honourably" since the beginning of 1993. This figure could be further broken down only at disproportionate cost.
