§ Mr. ArbuthnotThis is a matter for the Defence Evaluation and Research Agency under its framework document. I have asked the chief executive, DERA, to write to the hon. Member.
Letter from John Chisholm to Mr. Robert Key, dated 18 December 1995:
You asked the Secretary of State for Defence how many copies of the Corporate Plan for the Defence Evaluation and Research Agency (DERA) have been printed and distributed to DERA establishments and how many, specifically, have been distributed for the use of the staff at the Defence Test and Evaluation Organisation (DTEO) site at Boscombe Down. You also asked if a copy the DERA Corporate 983W Plan would be placed in the Library. Your questions have been passed to me, as Chief Executive of DERA, to reply and 1 am dealing with both in this letter. We printed 650 copies of the DERA Corporate Plan of which 420 have been distributed to DERA establishments including 72 which were sent to the DTEO site at Boscombe Down. Copies were also sent to MOD customers. DERA management and staff have been briefed on the content of the Corporate Plan and my management team and I have also given a presentation to the Trade UnionsI am afraid that I am unable to place a copy of the Corporate Plan in the Library as it contains information which is commercial-in-confidence. This year, additionally, the document contains classified information. If, however, you would like me to brief you on the main issues contained in the Plan then I should be happy to do so.
