HC Deb 18 December 1995 vol 268 c835W
Mr. Malcolm Bruce

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what has been the expenditure of his(a) Department, (b) agencies and 1(c) non-departmental public bodies on newspaper advertising by title for each year since 1990–91; and what estimate he has made for 1995–96 based on expenditure to date and existing plans. [6569]

Mr. Hanley

Details of advertising expenditure incurred by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office—both diplomatic and aid wings—were given in response to a question asked by the hon. Member for Gordon on 13 February,Official Report column 487. Information on the proportion which was spent on newspaper advertising could not be obtained without incurring disproportionate cost. The projected spend on all advertising and promotional material for 1995–96 is £2,719,000.
