§ Mr. HoramIt is not possible to identify all post-operative complications from the data available centrally. Some information is published in volume 1 of "Hospital Episode Statistics: England", for the years 1988–89 to 1993–94, copies of which are available in the Library. This shows the number of finished consultant episodes where the primary diagnosis is linked to complications of surgical or medical care which cannot be classified elsewhere in the system.
