Mr. Cousins

To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment what was the number of training for work programme participants in each month of 1995(a) in total and (b) by standard region; and what was the number of training for work programme participants regarded as special needs trainees in the same periods and regions. August 1995 is the latest month for which figures are available. It is only possible to estimate the percentage of starts by special needs trainees, not the actual numbers. The information available is given in tables 1 and 2:
