§ Mr. PageMy Department recognises the importance of training for all staff, not just managers and its potential effect on competitiveness. A research report published by the DTI and the CBI—"Competitiveness—How the best UK companies are Winning" showed that winning companies train and develop all staff at all levels. It also showed that improved company performance is dependent on a range of factors, it can rarely be attributable to improvements in one particular facet of management.
