§ Mr. Ian TaylorThe Government are committed to a policy of regulatory stability combined with sensible evolution. The Government are mindful that the growing convergence of telecommunications, broadcasting and information services might require a similar convergence in the regulatory structure. While, it would be premature at present to promote changes in regulatory structures, the Government continue to monitor developments closely, and to work with the multi-media industry advisory group and others in industry to agree the best way forward.
