§ Mr. MacleanThe primary responsibility for the enforcement of health and safety legislation rests with the Health and Safety Executive. Procedures already exist for liaison between HSE, the police and the Crown Prosecution Service where appropriate.
The introduction of specialised police units would be an operational matter for chief officers of police.
