HC Deb 04 December 1995 vol 268 c57W
Mr. Dalyell

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, pursuant to his answer of 27 November,Official Report, column 505, what considerations led him not to place all documents currently held by his Department relating to the destruction of Pan Am 103 over Lockerbie, seven years ago, in the Library. [3783]

Mr. Norris

It is not my Department's normal practice to release official files other than at the appropriate time under the procedures and criteria set down by the Public Record Office. There are no plans for earlier release of the papers in question, given the classified nature of some of the material and the pending criminal trial.
