HC Deb 04 December 1995 vol 268 cc33-4W
Mr. Bayley

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, how many vacant posts for clinical psychologists there were in English NHS trusts in each region on(a) I April 1994 and (b) at the latest date for which figures are available. [543]

Mr. Malone

The table shows the number of vacancies for clinical psychologists in English national health service trusts by region at 31 March 1994 and 31 March 1995.

The figures shown for the two years are not comparable because 1995 figures include data from about 80 fourth wave trusts which were directly managed units in 1994.

The vacancy rate as a percentage of the funded establishment in all trusts in 1994 was 15.2 per cent. In 1995 it was 15.5 per cent.

The figures supplied are for advertised vacant posts.
